Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)
Introduction to the scheme:
Overseas workers can support their application for permanent residence in Canada through LMIA. They can get additional points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) of the Federal Fast Track (EE) to speed up the immigration process and gain Canadian permanent resident status.

Eligibility:

Age: 25 – 50 years old

Education Level: Bachelor's degree or above is preferred

Language Ability: IELTS 6

Work Experience: At least 3 to 5 years
Application progress:

Take the IELTS exam and conduct academic verification

The Canadian lawyers will base on the applicant’s previous work experience and education level to pair up with employers

Employer will issue job admission notice to applicants after approval

Enter Canada in the form of a working visa

The applicant has worked in Canada for one year (minimum of 1560 hours)

After the Employer gets positive approval through LMIA, the applicant will be eligible to apply for Canadian permanent residence

The whole process takes about 18-20 months (The application time varies depending on the individual applicant’s circumstances)
